Week Four Term Three

Our shared book of the book is 'The hungry giants shoe'. The giant lost his shoe and got very grumpy. The little people had to find his shoe for him.

Our letter of the week is xX. Last weeks letter was wW. We made wicked witches.

Flynn is going to Australia with his family this week. Hopefully he brings us back lots of presents.

Talai and Zoe had a birthday in the weekend. They both turned 7.

This afternoon we are going to watch a performance at Boys High.

Our poem of the week is 'Sounds of the sea shore'. Last weeks poem was 'Little white snowman'. We made some magnificent snowmen and they are on our wall.

Week Two Term Three

Our letter of the week this week is V. Last weeks letter was J and we made Jack in the boxes.

Our poem of the week last week was 'The Dog and the Bee' and we made dogs with bees on their noses. Our poem this week is 'Open Sesame'. We think it is about someone who is crazy about books.

Our shared book of the week is 'Brave Mouse'. The mouse is hiding all over the castle and the kings people are trying to find him because they can hear him squeaking.

Last week we read the book 'Rainbow Fish'. It was all about friends and sharing. We made our own sparkly rainbow fish.

Our topic this term is 'Amazing Kitchen Science'. We have been learning all about machines.

Week One Term Three

Welcome back to term 3. We have all had a very fantastic and relaxing holiday.

We have a new boy in our class called Tyler Millington. He has settled in really well already.

In the holidays I went to Christchurch. We went to the Antarctic Centre and it was snowing up there. - Flynn

I went down to Dunedin to go on the Cadbury train but it snowed so I couldn't go. - Toby

Week Eleven Term Two

Last week our poem was 'The Handsome Hippo'. We made some happy hippos for the activity at the end of the week. The poem for this week is 'The Owl'.

Last week the letter of the week was U. We made some letter U's to go on our wall. This week the letter of the week is Y.

Our shared book of the week is 'A rumble and a grumble'. Annie and Angus McTavish are tired because they have had a busy day. They decided to go to bed to sleep but... Angus was snoring so bad that Annie couldn't get to sleep. She read a book called how to cure snores which was filled with silly ideas. In the end she got to sleep but Angus was awake!!!!

We have been finishing off our portraits that we started with Mrs Wilsher. They look stunning!

We read a book called 'Jungle Drums' and we had to write a new ending.

In maths I have been learning to split numbers and add to the closest ten. - Flynn

Week Ten Term Two

We had an amazing author that came to speak to us today. His name was Kyle Mewburn.

Our shared book for the week is 'Monkey's shoes'. The monkey took the explorers shoes and at the end of the story he fell out of the tree because of the shoes.

The letter of the week this week is U. Last week the letter of the week was T. We made tiger masks and we will be able to take them home on Friday.

The poem of the week is 'The Handsome Hippo'. Last weeks poem was 'The spider'. We made a spider and a shoe.

Music with Dale

We had music with Dale and we created a musical story. We had to play the instruments while Miss Fuehrer read the story.

Neve was the elephant.
Mason was the elephants ears.
Zoe, Georgia, Richard, Talai were the bullfrogs.
Coedy, Ben and Baljeet were the woodpeckers.
Lucy, Flynn, Will, Roshean and Toby were the birds.
Jood, Josh and Tarris were the butterflies.
Aaron and Liliarna were the horses.
Lila was the rain.

Week Nine Term Two

Last week our poem was 'The Elephant'. We had to make a humongous trunk and colour the elephant in gray. Our poem this week is 'The Spider'.

The shared book of the week is Big Heli and Little Heli. One Helicopter is small and one is big. Big Heli got to do all the jobs until little Heli had to save an eagle chick.

Our letter of the week is tT. Toby, Talai and Tarris start with T.

Aaron and Josh had a birthday on Saturday and they had lots of food, fun and presents.

We got sent some colouring in competitions sent to us and if we win we get to be a cop for the day and Bobby and Bryan come and visit our class.
If I was a cop for the day I would make people buy me chocolate. - Toby

Week Eight Term Two

Last week our poem was the Smile. We made some smiley people and we tried smiling at people to see if they would smile back. This week our poem is 'The Elephant'.

The letter of the week this week is S. We made silver stars.

Mrs Wilsher came into our class for the day and we talked about hats. We drew a self portrait and drew a hat on our head. Then we dyed our faces. Once they were dry we got to pick a colour to paint around the background.

Week Seven Term Two

Our poem of the week is "A smile". We are going to smile at people and see if they smile back. :) Last week for our poem we made Mr Nobody behind a door.

Our shared book of the week is "Hullabaloo at the zoo".

The letter of the week is fF. Flynn starts with F. Last week our letter was K and we made some puppet koalas.

We have started making our calico teddy bears. We have decorated them and today we are heat sealing the pastel. Tomorrow hopefully we will start stitching.

Week Six Term Two

Our letter of the week is k.
Our big book is "Lazy Duck".
Our poem is "Mr Nobody".

We are learning to do sewing. We are starting with an easy shape. It is part of our fabric and fibre topic.

Today we have visitors from Ashburton coming to look at ICT at our school.
